9666a7e688 Rename bevy_platform_support to bevy_platform (#18813)
The goal of `bevy_platform_support` is to provide a set of platform
agnostic APIs, alongside platform-specific functionality. This is a high
traffic crate (providing things like HashMap and Instant). Especially in
light of https://github.com/bevyengine/bevy/discussions/18799, it
deserves a friendlier / shorter name.

Given that it hasn't had a full release yet, getting this change in
before Bevy 0.16 makes sense.

- Rename `bevy_platform_support` to `bevy_platform`.

bevy_reflect: Add clone registrations project-wide (#18307)
# Objective

Now that #13432 has been merged, it's important we update our reflected
types to properly opt into this feature. If we do not, then this could
cause issues for users downstream who want to make use of
reflection-based cloning.

## Solution

This PR is broken into 4 commits:

1. Add `#[reflect(Clone)]` on all types marked `#[reflect(opaque)]` that
are also `Clone`. This is mandatory as these types would otherwise cause
the cloning operation to fail for any type that contains it at any
depth.
2. Update the reflection example to suggest adding `#[reflect(Clone)]`
on opaque types.
3. Add `#[reflect(clone)]` attributes on all fields marked
`#[reflect(ignore)]` that are also `Clone`. This prevents the ignored
field from causing the cloning operation to fail.

Note that some of the types that contain these fields are also `Clone`,
and thus can be marked `#[reflect(Clone)]`. This makes the
`#[reflect(clone)]` attribute redundant. However, I think it's safer to
keep it marked in the case that the `Clone` impl/derive is ever removed.
I'm open to removing them, though, if people disagree.
4. Finally, I added `#[reflect(Clone)]` on all types that are also
`Clone`. While not strictly necessary, it enables us to reduce the
generated output since we can just call `Clone::clone` directly instead
of calling `PartialReflect::reflect_clone` on each variant/field. It
also means we benefit from any optimizations or customizations made in
the `Clone` impl, including directly dereferencing `Copy` values and
increasing reference counters.

Along with that change I also took the liberty of adding any missing
registrations that I saw could be applied to the type as well, such as
`Default`, `PartialEq`, and `Hash`. There were hundreds of these to
edit, though, so it's possible I missed quite a few.

That last commit is **_massive_**. There were nearly 700 types to
update. So it's recommended to review the first three before moving onto
that last one.

Additionally, I can break the last commit off into its own PR or into
smaller PRs, but I figured this would be the easiest way of doing it
(and in a timely manner since I unfortunately don't have as much time as
I used to for code contributions).

## Testing

You can test locally with a `cargo check`:

```
cargo check --workspace --all-features
```

Generic system config (#17962)
# Objective
Prevents duplicate implementation between IntoSystemConfigs and
IntoSystemSetConfigs using a generic, adds a NodeType trait for more
config flexibility (opening the door to implement

## Solution
Followed writeup by @ItsDoot:

Removes IntoSystemConfigs and IntoSystemSetConfigs, instead using
IntoNodeConfigs with generics.

Fix Component require() IDE integration (#18165)
# Objective

Component `require()` IDE integration is fully broken, as of #16575.

## Solution

This reverts us back to the previous "put the docs on Component trait"
impl. This _does_ reduce the accessibility of the required components in
rust docs, but the complete erasure of "required component IDE
experience" is not worth the price of slightly increased prominence of
requires in docs.

Additionally, Rust Analyzer has recently started including derive
attributes in suggestions, so we aren't losing that benefit of the
proc_macro attribute impl.

Fix incorrect doc about GamepadAxis::RightZ/LeftZ (#18114)
# Objective

Documentation correction.

# Reasoning
The `GamepadAxis::RightZ` and `LeftZ` do not map to the trigger buttons
on a gamepad. They are in fact for the twisting/yaw of a flight Joystick
and throttle lever respectively. I confirmed this with two gamepads that
has analog triggers (Logitech F710, 8bitdo ultimate BT controller) and a
HOTAS joystick (Saitek X52).

Change Commands::get_entity to return Result and remove panic from Commands::entity (#18043)
## Objective

Alternative to #18001.

- Now that systems can handle the `?` operator, `get_entity` returning
`Result` would be more useful than `Option`.
- With `get_entity` being more flexible, combined with entity commands
now checking the entity's existence automatically, the panic in `entity`
isn't really necessary.

## Solution

- Changed `Commands::get_entity` to return `Result<EntityCommands,
EntityDoesNotExistError>`.
- Removed panic from `Commands::entity`.

Automatically enable portable-atomic when required (#17570)
# Objective

- Contributes to #15460
- Reduce quantity and complexity of feature gates across Bevy

## Solution

- Used `target_has_atomic` configuration variable to automatically
detect impartial atomic support and automatically switch to
`portable-atomic` over the standard library on an as-required basis.

## Testing

- CI

## Notes

To explain the technique employed here, consider getting `Arc` either
from `alloc::sync` _or_ `portable-atomic-util`. First, we can inspect
the `alloc` crate to see that you only have access to `Arc` _if_
`target_has_atomic = "ptr"`. We add a target dependency for this
particular configuration _inverted_:

```toml
[target.'cfg(not(target_has_atomic = "ptr"))'.dependencies]
portable-atomic-util = { version = "0.2.4", default-features = false }
```

This ensures we only have the dependency when it is needed, and it is
entirely excluded from the dependency graph when it is not. Next, we
adjust our configuration flags to instead of checking for `feature =
"portable-atomic"` to instead check for `target_has_atomic = "ptr"`:

```rust
// `alloc` feature flag hidden for brevity
#[cfg(not(target_has_atomic = "ptr"))]
use portable_atomic_util as arc;
#[cfg(target_has_atomic = "ptr")]
use alloc::sync as arc;
pub use arc::{Arc, Weak};
```

The benefits of this technique are three-fold:

1. For platforms without full atomic support, the functionality is
enabled automatically.
2. For platforms with atomic support, the dependency is never included,
even if a feature was enabled using `--all-features` (for example)
3. The `portable-atomic` feature no longer needs to virally spread to
all user-facing crates, it's instead something handled within
`bevy_platform_support` (with some extras where other dependencies also
need their features enabled).

## Summary of Changes

### Documentation Indentation

When using lists in documentation, proper indentation is now linted for.
This means subsequent lines within the same list item must start at the
same indentation level as the item.

```rust
/* Valid */
/// - Item 1
///   Run-on sentence.
/// - Item 2
struct Foo;
/* Invalid */
/// - Item 1
///     Run-on sentence.
/// - Item 2
struct Foo;
```

### Implicit `!` to `()` Conversion

`!` (the never return type, returned by `panic!`, etc.) no longer
implicitly converts to `()`. This is particularly painful for systems
with `todo!` or `panic!` statements, as they will no longer be functions
returning `()` (or `Result<()>`), making them invalid systems for
functions like `add_systems`. The ideal fix would be to accept functions
returning `!` (or rather, _not_ returning), but this is blocked on the
[stabilisation of the `!` type
itself](https://doc.rust-lang.org/std/primitive.never.html), which is
not done.

The "simple" fix would be to add an explicit `-> ()` to system
signatures (e.g., `|| { todo!() }` becomes `|| -> () { todo!() }`).
However, this is _also_ banned, as there is an existing lint which (IMO,
incorrectly) marks this as an unnecessary annotation.

So, the "fix" (read: workaround) is to put these kinds of `|| -> ! { ...
}` closuers into variables and give the variable an explicit type (e.g.,
`fn()`).

```rust
// Valid
let system: fn() = || todo!("Not implemented yet!");
app.add_systems(..., system);
// Invalid
app.add_systems(..., || todo!("Not implemented yet!"));
```

### Temporary Variable Lifetimes

The order in which temporary variables are dropped has changed. The
simple fix here is _usually_ to just assign temporaries to a named
variable before use.

### `gen` is a keyword

We can no longer use the name `gen` as it is reserved for a future
generator syntax. This involved replacing uses of the name `gen` with
`r#gen` (the raw-identifier syntax).

### Formatting has changed

Use statements have had the order of imports changed, causing a
substantial +/-3,000 diff when applied. For now, I have opted-out of
this change by amending `rustfmt.toml`

```toml
style_edition = "2021"
```

This preserves the original formatting for now, reducing the size of
this PR. It would be a simple followup to update this to 2024 and run
`cargo fmt`.

### New `use<>` Opt-Out Syntax

Lifetimes are now implicitly included in RPIT types. There was a handful
of instances where it needed to be added to satisfy the borrow checker,
but there may be more cases where it _should_ be added to avoid
breakages in user code.

### `MyUnitStruct { .. }` is an invalid pattern

Previously, you could match against unit structs (and unit enum
variants) with a `{ .. }` destructuring. This is no longer valid.

### Pretty much every use of `ref` and `mut` are gone

Pattern binding has changed to the point where these terms are largely
unused now. They still serve a purpose, but it is far more niche now.

### `iter::repeat(...).take(...)` is bad

New lint recommends using the more explicit `iter::repeat_n(..., ...)`
instead.

## Migration Guide

The lifetimes of functions using return-position impl-trait (RPIT) are
likely _more_ conservative than they had been previously. If you
encounter lifetime issues with such a function, please create an issue
to investigate the addition of `+ use<...>`.

Cleanup publish process (#17728)
# Objective

- publish script copy the license files to all subcrates, meaning that
all publish are dirty. this breaks git verification of crates
- the order and list of crates to publish is manually maintained,
leading to error. cargo 1.84 is more strict and the list is currently
wrong

## Solution

- duplicate all the licenses to all crates and remove the
`--allow-dirty` flag
- instead of a manual list of crates, get it from `cargo package
--workspace`
- remove the `--no-verify` flag to... verify more things?

added Hash to MouseScrollUnit; (#17538)
# Objective

This allows for the usage of the MouseScrollUnit as a key to a HashSet
and HashMap. I have a need for this, but this basic functionality is
currently missing.

## Solution

Add the derive Hash attribute to the MouseScrollUnit type.

## Testing

- Did you test these changes? If so, how?
No, but I did perform a `cargo build`. My laptop is failing to run
`cargo test` without crashing.
- Are there any parts that need more testing?
If someone could run a `cargo test` for completeness, that would be
great but this is a trivial change.
- How can other people (reviewers) test your changes? Is there anything
specific they need to know?
They simply need to ensure that the common Hash derive macro works as
expected for the basic MouseScrollUnit type.
- If relevant, what platforms did you test these changes on, and are
there any important ones you can't test?

Move hashbrown and foldhash out of bevy_utils (#17460)
# Objective

- Contributes to #16877

## Solution

- Moved `hashbrown`, `foldhash`, and related types out of `bevy_utils`
and into `bevy_platform_support`
- Refactored the above to match the layout of these types in `std`.
- Updated crates as required.

## Testing

- CI

---

## Migration Guide

- The following items were moved out of `bevy_utils` and into
`bevy_platform_support::hash`:
  - `FixedState`
  - `DefaultHasher`
  - `RandomState`
  - `FixedHasher`
  - `Hashed`
  - `PassHash`
  - `PassHasher`
  - `NoOpHash`
- The following items were moved out of `bevy_utils` and into
`bevy_platform_support::collections`:
  - `HashMap`
  - `HashSet`
- `bevy_utils::hashbrown` has been removed. Instead, import from
`bevy_platform_support::collections` _or_ take a dependency on
`hashbrown` directly.
- `bevy_utils::Entry` has been removed. Instead, import from
`bevy_platform_support::collections::hash_map` or
`bevy_platform_support::collections::hash_set` as appropriate.
- All of the above equally apply to `bevy::utils` and
`bevy::platform_support`.

## Notes

- I left `PreHashMap`, `PreHashMapExt`, and `TypeIdMap` in `bevy_utils`
as they might be candidates for micro-crating. They can always be moved
into `bevy_platform_support` at a later date if desired.

Move Resource trait to its own file (#17469)
# Objective

`bevy_ecs`'s `system` module is something of a grab bag, and *very*
large. This is particularly true for the `system_param` module, which is
more than 2k lines long!

While it could be defensible to put `Res` and `ResMut` there (lol no
they're in change_detection.rs, obviously), it doesn't make any sense to
put the `Resource` trait there. This is confusing to navigate (and
painful to work on and review).

## Solution

- Create a root level `bevy_ecs/resource.rs` module to mirror
`bevy_ecs/component.rs`
- move the `Resource` trait to that module
- move the `Resource` derive macro to that module as well (Rust really
likes when you pun on the names of the derive macro and trait and put
them in the same path)
- fix all of the imports

## Notes to reviewers

- We could probably move more stuff into here, but I wanted to keep this
PR as small as possible given the absurd level of import changes.
- This PR is ground work for my upcoming attempts to store resource data
on components (resources-as-entities). Splitting this code out will make
the work and review a bit easier, and is the sort of overdue refactor
that's good to do as part of more meaningful work.

## Testing

Create bevy_platform_support Crate (#17250)
# Objective

- Contributes to #16877

## Solution

- Initial creation of `bevy_platform_support` crate.
- Moved `bevy_utils::Instant` into new `bevy_platform_support` crate.
- Moved `portable-atomic`, `portable-atomic-util`, and
`critical-section` into new `bevy_platform_support` crate.

## Testing

---

## Showcase

Instead of needing code like this to import an `Arc`:

```rust
#[cfg(feature = "portable-atomic")]
use portable_atomic_util::Arc;
#[cfg(not(feature = "portable-atomic"))]
use alloc::sync::Arc;
```

We can now use:

```rust
use bevy_platform_support::sync::Arc;
```

This applies to many other types, but the goal is overall the same:
allowing crates to use `std`-like types without the boilerplate of
conditional compilation and platform-dependencies.

## Migration Guide

- Replace imports of `bevy_utils::Instant` with
`bevy_platform_support::time::Instant`
- Replace imports of `bevy::utils::Instant` with
`bevy::platform_support::time::Instant`

## Notes

- `bevy_platform_support` hasn't been reserved on `crates.io`
- ~~`bevy_platform_support` is not re-exported from `bevy` at this time.
It may be worthwhile exporting this crate, but I am unsure of a
reasonable name to export it under (`platform_support` may be a bit
wordy for user-facing).~~
- I've included an implementation of `Instant` which is suitable for
`no_std` platforms that are not Wasm for the sake of eliminating feature
gates around its use. It may be a controversial inclusion, so I'm happy
to remove it if required.
- There are many other items (`spin`, `bevy_utils::Sync(Unsafe)Cell`,
etc.) which should be added to this crate. I have kept the initial scope
small to demonstrate utility without making this too unwieldy.

## Migration Guide

If you relied on any of the following from `bevy_utils::time`:

- `Duration`
- `TryFromFloatSecsError`

Import these directly from `core::time` regardless of platform target
(WASM, mobile, etc.)

If you relied on any of the following from `bevy_utils::time`:

- `SystemTime`
- `SystemTimeError`

Instead import these directly from either `std::time` or `web_time` as
appropriate for your target platform.

## Notes

`Duration` and `TryFromFloatSecsError` are both re-exports from
`core::time` regardless of whether they are used from `web_time` or
`std::time`, so there is no value gained from re-exporting them from
`bevy_utils::time` as well. As for `SystemTime` and `SystemTimeError`,
no Bevy internal crates or examples rely on these types. Since Bevy
doesn't have a `Time<Wall>` resource for interacting with wall-time (and
likely shouldn't need one), I think removing these from `bevy_utils`
entirely and waiting for a use-case to justify inclusion is a reasonable
path forward.

Remove Implicit std Prelude from no_std Crates (#17086)
# Background

In `no_std` compatible crates, there is often an `std` feature which
will allow access to the standard library. Currently, with the `std`
feature _enabled_, the
[`std::prelude`](https://doc.rust-lang.org/std/prelude/index.html) is
implicitly imported in all modules. With the feature _disabled_, instead
the [`core::prelude`](https://doc.rust-lang.org/core/prelude/index.html)
is implicitly imported. This creates a subtle and pervasive issue where
`alloc` items _may_ be implicitly included (if `std` is enabled), or
must be explicitly included (if `std` is not enabled).

# Objective

- Make the implicit imports for `no_std` crates consistent regardless of
what features are/not enabled.

## Solution

- Replace the `cfg_attr` "double negative" `no_std` attribute with
conditional compilation to _include_ `std` as an external crate.
```rust
// Before
#![cfg_attr(not(feature = "std"), no_std)]
// After
#![no_std]
#[cfg(feature = "std")]
extern crate std;
```
- Fix imports that are currently broken but are only now visible with
the above fix.

## Testing

- CI

## Notes

I had previously used the "double negative" version of `no_std` based on
general consensus that it was "cleaner" within the Rust embedded
community. However, this implicit prelude issue likely was considered
when forming this consensus. I believe the reason why is the items most
affected by this issue are provided by the `alloc` crate, which is
rarely used within embedded but extensively used within Bevy.

  - `std` (default)
  - `smol_str` (default)
  - `portable-atomic`
  - `critical-section`
  - `libm`
- Fixed an existing issue where `bevy_reflect` wasn't properly feature
gated.

## Testing

- CI

## Notes

- There were some minor issues with `bevy_math` and `bevy_ecs` noticed
in this PR which I have also resolved here. I can split these out if
desired, but I've left them here for now as they're very small changes
and I don't consider this PR itself to be very controversial.
- `libm`, `portable-atomic`, and `critical-section` are shortcuts to
enable the relevant features in dependencies, making the usage of this
crate on atomically challenged platforms possible and simpler.
- `smol_str` is gated as it doesn't support atomically challenged
platforms (e.g., Raspberry Pi Pico). I have an issue and a
[PR](https://github.com/rust-analyzer/smol_str/pull/91) to discuss this
upstream.

Prefer Display over Debug (#16112)
# Objective

Fixes #16104

## Solution

I removed all instances of `:?` and put them back one by one where it

I removed some bevy_utils helper functions that were only used in 2
places and don't add value. See: #11478

## Testing

CI should catch the mistakes

## Migration Guide

`bevy::utils::{dbg,info,warn,error}` were removed. Use
`bevy::utils::tracing::{debug,info,warn,error}` instead.

Remove bevy_core (#16897)
# Objective

## Solution

- Removed `TypeRegistryPlugin` (`Name` is now automatically registered

- Moved `TaskPoolPlugin` to `bevy_app`
- Moved `FrameCountPlugin` to `bevy_diagnostic`
- Deleted now-empty `bevy_core`

## Testing

`app.register_type::<Name>()`.
- References to `TaskPoolPlugin` and associated types will need to
import it from `bevy_app` instead of `bevy_core`
- References to `FrameCountPlugin` and associated types will need to

Expose text field from winit in KeyboardInput (#16864)
# Objective

Allow handling of dead keys on some keyboard layouts.

In some cases, dead keys were impossible to get using the
`KeyboardInput` event. This information is already present in the
underlying winit `KeyEvent`, but it wasn't exposed.

## Solution

Expose the `text` field from winit's `KeyEvent` in `KeyboardInput`.

This logic is inspired egui's implementation here:
adfc0bebfc/crates/egui-winit/src/lib.rs (L790-L807)

## Testing

This is a new field, so it shouldn't break any existing functionality. I
tested that this change works by running the modified `text_input`
example on different keyboard layouts.

## Example

Using a Portuguese/ABNT2 keyboard layout on windows and pressing
<kbd>\~</kbd> followed by
<kbd>a</kbd>/<kbd>Space</kbd>/<kbd>d</kbd>/<kbd>\~</kbd> now generates
the following events:
```
KeyboardInput { key_code: Quote, logical_key: Dead(Some('~')), state: Pressed, text: None, repeat: false, window: 0v1#4294967296 }
KeyboardInput { key_code: KeyA, logical_key: Character("ã"), state: Pressed, text: Some("ã"), repeat: false, window: 0v1#4294967296 }
KeyboardInput { key_code: Quote, logical_key: Dead(Some('~')), state: Pressed, text: None, repeat: false, window: 0v1#4294967296 }
KeyboardInput { key_code: Space, logical_key: Space, state: Pressed, text: Some("~"), repeat: false, window: 0v1#4294967296 }
KeyboardInput { key_code: Quote, logical_key: Dead(Some('~')), state: Pressed, text: None, repeat: false, window: 0v1#4294967296 }
KeyboardInput { key_code: KeyD, logical_key: Character("d"), state: Pressed, text: Some("~d"), repeat: false, window: 0v1#4294967296 }
KeyboardInput { key_code: Quote, logical_key: Dead(Some('~')), state: Pressed, text: None, repeat: false, window: 0v1#4294967296 }
KeyboardInput { key_code: Quote, logical_key: Dead(Some('~')), state: Pressed, text: Some("~~"), repeat: false, window: 0v1#4294967296 }
```

The logic for getting an input is pretty simple: check if `text` is
`Some`. If it is, this is actual input text, otherwise it isn't.

There's a small caveat: certain keys generate control characters in the
input text, which needs to be filtered out:
```
KeyboardInput { key_code: Escape, logical_key: Escape, state: Pressed, text: Some("\u{1b}"), repeat: false, window: 0v1#4294967296 }
```

I've updated the text_input example to include egui's solution to this,
which works well.

## Migration Guide

The `KeyboardInput` event now has a new `text` field.

Fix registering all reflection types that are components as reflection components (#16800)
# Objective

Fixes #16659

## Solution

- I just added all the `#[reflect(Component)]` attributes where
necessary.

## Testing

I wrote a small program that scans the bevy code for all structs and
enums that derive `Component` and `Reflect`, but don't have the
attribute `#[reflect(Component)]`.

I don't know if this testing program should be part of the testing suite
of bevy. It takes a bit of time to scan the whole codebase. In any case,
I've published it [here](https://github.com/anlumo/bevy-reflect-check).

Move required components doc to type doc (#16575)
# Objective

Make documentation of a component's required components more visible by
moving it to the type's docs

## Solution

Change `#[require]` from a derive macro helper to an attribute macro.

Disadvantages:
- this silences any unused code warnings on the component, as it is used
by the macro!
- need to import `require` if not using the ecs prelude (I have not
included this in the migration guilde as Rust tooling already suggests
the fix)

Revert most of #16222 and add gamepad accessors (#16425)
# Objective

#16222 regressed the user experience of actually using gamepads:

```rust
// Before 16222
gamepad.just_pressed(GamepadButton::South)
// After 16222
gamepad.digital.just_pressed(GamepadButton::South)
// Before 16222
gamepad.get(GamepadButton::RightTrigger2)
// After 16222
gamepad.analog.get(GamepadButton::RighTrigger2)
```

Users shouldn't need to think about "digital vs analog" when checking if
a button is pressed. This abstraction was intentional and I strongly
believe it is in our users' best interest. Buttons and Axes are _both_
digital and analog, and this is largely an implementation detail. I
don't think reverting this will be controversial.

## Solution

- Revert most of #16222
- Add the `Into<T>` from #16222 to the internals
- Expose read/write `digital` and `analog` accessors on gamepad, in the
interest of enabling the mocking scenarios covered in #16222 (and
allowing the minority of users that care about the "digital" vs "analog"
distinction in this context to make that distinction)

Use Name component for gamepad (#16233)
# Objective

Addressing a suggestion I made in Discord: store gamepad name as a
`Name` component.
Advantages:
- Will be nicely displayed in inspector / editor.
- Easier to spawn in tests, just `world.spawn(Gamepad::default())`.

## Solution

`Gamepad` component now stores only vendor and product IDs and `Name`
stores the gamepad name.
Since `GamepadInfo` is no longer necessary, I removed it and merged its
fields into the connection event.

## Testing

- Run unit tests.

---

## Migration Guide

- `GamepadInfo` no longer exists:
  - Name now accesible via `Name` component.
  - Other information available on `Gamepad` component directly.
  - `GamepadConnection::Connected` now stores all info fields directly.

Add some missing features from the gamepads-as-entities change that were needed to update leafwing-input-manager. (#15685)
The gamepads-as-entities change caused several regressions. This patch
fixes each of them:

1. This PR introduces two new fields on `GamepadInfo`: `vendor_id`, and
`product_id`, as well as associated methods. These fields are simply
mirrored from the `gilrs` library.

2. That PR removed the methods that allowed iterating over all pressed
and released buttons, as well as the method that allowed iterating over
the axis values. (It was still technically possible to do so by using
reflection to access the private fields of `Gamepad`.)

3. The `Gamepad` component wasn't marked reflectable. This PR fixes that
problem.

These changes allowed me to forward port `leafwing-input-manager`.

Implement gamepads as entities (#12770)
# Objective

- Significantly improve the ergonomics of gamepads and allow new
features

Gamepads are a bit unergonomic to work with, they use resources but
unlike other inputs, they are not limited to a single gamepad, to get
around this it uses an identifier (Gamepad) to interact with anything
causing all sorts of issues.

1. There are too many: Gamepads, GamepadSettings, GamepadInfo,
ButtonInput<T>, 2 Axis<T>.
2. ButtonInput/Axis generic methods become really inconvenient to use
e.g. any_pressed()
3. GamepadButton/Axis structs are unnecessary boilerplate:

```rust
for gamepad in gamepads.iter() {
        if button_inputs.just_pressed(GamepadButton::new(gamepad, GamepadButtonType::South)) {
            info!("{:?} just pressed South", gamepad);
        } else if button_inputs.just_released(GamepadButton::new(gamepad, GamepadButtonType::South))
        {
            info!("{:?} just released South", gamepad);
        }
}
```
4. Projects often need to create resources to store the selected gamepad
and have to manually check if their gamepad is still valid anyways.

- Previously attempted by #3419 and #12674

## Solution

- Implement gamepads as entities.

Using entities solves all the problems above and opens new
possibilities.

1. Reduce boilerplate and allows iteration

```rust
let is_pressed = gamepads_buttons.iter().any(|buttons| buttons.pressed(GamepadButtonType::South))
```
2. ButtonInput/Axis generic methods become ergonomic again
```rust
gamepad_buttons.any_just_pressed([GamepadButtonType::Start, GamepadButtonType::Select])
```
3. Reduces the number of public components significantly (Gamepad,
GamepadSettings, GamepadButtons, GamepadAxes)
4. Components are highly convenient. Gamepad optional features could now
be expressed naturally (`Option<Rumble> or Option<Gyro>`), allows devs
to attach their own components and filter them, so code like this
becomes possible:
```rust
fn move_player<const T: usize>(
    player: Query<&Transform, With<Player<T>>>,
    gamepads_buttons: Query<&GamepadButtons, With<Player<T>>>,
) {
    if let Ok(gamepad_buttons) = gamepads_buttons.get_single() {
        if gamepad_buttons.pressed(GamepadButtonType::South) {
            // move player
        }
    }
}
```

Add core and alloc over std Lints (#15281)
# Objective

- Fixes #6370
- Closes #6581

## Solution

- Added the following lints to the workspace:
  - `std_instead_of_core`
  - `std_instead_of_alloc`
  - `alloc_instead_of_core`
- Used `cargo +nightly fmt` with [item level use
formatting](https://rust-lang.github.io/rustfmt/?version=v1.6.0&search=#Item%5C%3A)
to split all `use` statements into single items.
- Used `cargo clippy --workspace --all-targets --all-features --fix
--allow-dirty` to _attempt_ to resolve the new linting issues, and
intervened where the lint was unable to resolve the issue automatically
(usually due to needing an `extern crate alloc;` statement in a crate
root).
- Manually removed certain uses of `std` where negative feature gating
prevented `--all-features` from finding the offending uses.
- Used `cargo +nightly fmt` with [crate level use
formatting](https://rust-lang.github.io/rustfmt/?version=v1.6.0&search=#Crate%5C%3A)
to re-merge all `use` statements matching Bevy's previous styling.
- Manually fixed cases where the `fmt` tool could not re-merge `use`
statements due to conditional compilation attributes.

## Testing

- Ran CI locally

## Migration Guide

The MSRV is now 1.81. Please update to this version or higher.

## Notes

- This is a _massive_ change to try and push through, which is why I've
outlined the semi-automatic steps I used to create this PR, in case this
fails and someone else tries again in the future.
- Making this change has no impact on user code, but does mean Bevy
contributors will be warned to use `core` and `alloc` instead of `std`
where possible.
- This lint is a critical first step towards investigating `no_std`
options for Bevy.
